I live in the South and bread will mold fast if not eaten in a couple of days. I keep it in the refrigerator but do not poke any holes in it and it stays fresh.

If the bread isn't gone in a few days I put it in the freezer.

Take what you need from your loaf of bread then store the loaf in the microwave, the last slice of bread will be as fresh as the day you bought it .

I wrap my bread with kitchen paper towels, and then the whole thing again in the bread plastic. Keep changing the paper once in 2-3 days and the bread stays odour free and as fresh for longer than 12 days....if the bread isn't finished yet.

Believe it or not even freshly baked bread tastes exactly the same after freezing it. Much better than refrigerated bread. I take out what I need and put the rest back in the freezer. A benefit is that bread that has been frozen has a lower carb count, even lower if you toast it.

Who else find all year round not only your bread but fruit, vegetables, and a lot more food is hot from the lights on the shelf, also some fruits are defrosted after container refrigeration from transport to the supermarket then a lot of the meat such as pork chops has been frozen before slicing with the machines without warning to the customers the can not refreeze these items for cooked in sources of whatever you want to do with them pork and chicken are particularly dangerous to refreeze and you think you've bought fresh

Sorry, but the holes you instruct to place in the bread bag will absorb odors off the fridge such as onions, garlic, oranges; whatever. Also, the holes will bring in humidity. Keep bread in freeze; double the bag to keep moisture out; you could also, place a couple of paper towels inside the bag to absorb moisture. I think these instructions in this YouTube video are a sad prank.
