About Cruel Summer:
From executive producer Jessica Biel (“The Sinner”), “Cruel Summer” is a psychological thriller that follows two young women: Kate Wallis, the popular girl with a charmed life who one day goes missing, and Jeanette Turner, the nerdy wannabe who is accused of being connected to Kate’s disappearance. All signs point to Jeanette’s guilt, but is Kate really who she seems to be? Set over three summers and told through shifting points of view, the series challenges perception and follows how one girl can go from being a sweet outlier to the most despised person in America. The series stars Olivia Holt, Chiara Aurelia, Michael Landes, Froy Gutierrez, Harley Quinn Smith, Allius Barnes, Blake Lee and Brooklyn Sudano. “Cruel Summer” comes from studio eOne and was created by Bert V. I positively adore Kate and Mallory's friendship. While they initially appear vastly different, and incompatible, I love how they actually got to know each other properly. Their unlikely bond gives me slight "Breakfast Club" vibes! ❤️

If they are going to do another season, season 2 should be on the aftermath of Kate's trauma going into adulthood and how she lives through it in the years of the late 90s, early 2000s, and oohh today in 2021. And by the end of the series it will show how kate can overcomes it and with a added bonus they could bring a real survivor

The most unrealistic thing in this show is how nearly every couple is interracial in this small Texas town in the early 90s! Look I’m all for diversity but it’s not gonna kill ya to have a black couple too.
