For a podcast, I see no reason to opt for wav, unless the mp3 version is low bitrate. A good quality mp3 for a talking show is a more than enough. The tiny details that may be taken out aren't that important, we are more interested into hearing clearly what is being said. For music and movies on the other hand, the mp3 compression will remove some details and affect separation of the instruments, which can affect the listening experience.

Doing a comparison of clips from wav to mp3 in a mp3 file format on youtube since youtube converts everything to mp3 whatever little nuances you could pick out from a real wav file and a mp3 file are now compressed thus making it sound so identical there is no longer a difference

What about recordings on MP3 wth higher Rate, just like 320kb/s? Is that an alternate Choice for editing audio?

Just as a deal breaker, just wondering if your audio for this video was done in MP3 or WAV? Sorry if you said in the vid but I don't remember you saying so.

You must be joking! Your mp3 recording obviously had better quality than your wav file! If there even was any difference at all.

PS: If you are going to compare two qualities, use the same recording but in different qualities. Hard to tell the dirrerence when it's two different recordings..

There was a guy who went to my highschool named Ray. He used to listen to music on his iPod, I used to tell him that CDs have better sound quality, he didn't believe me. I gave him the nickname "MP3 boy". To this day I tease him by calling him MP3. I got in trouble for namecalling. However this all happened because I knew that WAV was better than MP3 back when I was 15 years old. He also told me that my joke was irrelevent and that iPods do not use MP3. I found out much later that iPods use their own AAC format. Still. I believe that any lossy digital audio I call it "MP3 sound" just like how dell pcs are labeled as "IBM PC".
