Ok so I've only recently been watching Torchwood for the first time and just finished children of earth. Which ends with jack leaving earth. And I know this is gonna seem really weird but I LOVE the continuity here. Jack is wearing the same shirt as he was when he left earth at the end of children of earth. Now I'm sure many people will say "he's just wearing the same outfit he always does". But throughout torchwood he may always wear the same coat. But he does wear different shirts often. And he is wearing the same dark blue shirt that he is wearing when he left earth. It is probably just a generic costume they put him in for this scene. But I really hope it isn't, because that would be SO cool to think they included that tiny detail.

It's the same thing as at the end of torchwood series 1 where jack runs off after he hears the sound of the TARDIS landing. In that seen he is wearing the dark blue shirt with the light grey braces. And in the following doctor who episode "Utopia" he is wearing the exact same blue shirt and light grey braces. I don't normally notice small things like that in tv shows but being a big fan of Doctor who I couldn't help but notice that. Awesome continuity if that is the case and it's not just a coincidence which I hope it isn't.

The most interesting thing is that in a doctor who confidential, Russell T Davies said that “Jack is really down. Losing his family, his friends and leaving Earth broke him. The Doctor comes and gives the letter to Jack as he feels for Jack, ” The Doctor knew what happened in Children Of Earth but didn’t help the torchwood team. Maybe he was too disgusted by humanity.

I hate to say this, but I don't think we'll ever see Capt. Jack again on Doctor Who. First they missed the biggest opportunities to bring Jack in during Matt Smith's run and missed a chance to have him part of the 50th anniversary episode in a supporting role.
