Another option is clean the tip of the probe with sandpaper. Remove all the sludge buildup. Just dont sand the white porcelain part

Personally I like to just blow down my old MM float type lwco under steam. Shuts down the burner and cleans out the lwco.

How much does new battery be cost ? My boiler company says I should get a new one as it is 14 years old and the quote is for $1090. Seems really expensive to me

Really useful video, thanks!!!  Our safeguard LWCO just stopped working, and I was trying to figure out why!!!  I've never installed one of these probes... can you tell me if I can use teflon tape, or if I need to use pipedope or something else?  How tight do you put them in?  Thanks for any help!!!
