Understanding the Low Water Cut-off Control of a Steam Boiler

Without hesitation, most would consider this safety as the most important inside the boiler room. Granted there is no single control that should be considered unimportant, yet the low water cutoff is a high priority check. Most boiler accidents are traced back to faulty low water cutouts that could have been prevented. Always refer to manufacturers' recommended procedures on these controls and make the Low water cut-off part of your daily or per shift checks if not already.

Good video, very detailed and educational. 👍🏻 very handy for me as I’m an apprentice engineer for combustion and I work on industrial boilers and burners, and I’ve learned a lot from your channel already and I’m very new here :)

Should I set my steam boiler timer to go on and off at specific times or leave it running non-stop 24/7?
