For 37 years now when a unit is taken off line for annuals I've used a long shank die grinder with a brass or bronze brush set for cleaning buildup from the float housing chamber . A small portable blast cabinet with soda media gets into the float assy. area without any damage to springs etc.

I am taking Engineering Thermodynamics and stumbled on your channel after the instructor suggested researching "steam traps" on Youtube. Your videos complement the textbook by showcasing the components that comprise a steam generation system as well as the operation and maintenance. I have learned a lot after watching only 20 videos. Thank you.
