Getting diagnosed with glaucoma, I had to figure out how to use lighter weights for benefit of building muscle mass, this vid helped out a lot

I agree with Tempo work. Also BFR Training will give her a similar stimulus to lifting heavy despite light weight.

I would do higher reps with band training. (15-20 reps)

Curious why you wouldn't suggest BFR for Phoebe's case. I have the same problem and do low load high rep but add BFR in final sets during circuit, or incorporate it into my exercises so that I do not lose strength. Not an expert, this is a real question as to why you would choose not to take this route.

Hey Sal - you mentioned that studies show “higher reps at high intensity can be almost as effective as low reps.” So what would you say about circuit training with compound exercises? I’m doing 4-6 rounds of this circuit: 10 squats, 10 bent over rows, 10 deadlifts, 10 bench press and 10 bicep curls. Highest weight I put on the bar is two 25lb plates.

I’m mostly doing this for fatloss but I’m curious if this has potential for muscle building?

This is so helpful. I really enjoy training with a low tempo, but I always feel guilty about it 😂

I had the same issue with post concussion syndrome. Using high weights and low reps triggered my nervous system too much leading to the triggering of symptoms. I can still use a light weight and reach failure.

I've been following the Agoge Diet for a couple of months and have built so much muscle. Just wanted to share for those feeling stuck with their muscle building.

Hey, do you have by any chance HNPP? If so, I have it too and train hard regardless the weight going for max tension 🙌🏼

I would argue that the tempo, tension and all that does not matter really. In her case, if she reduced the weight so as to work in a higher rep range, as long as she progressively increases the load while staying in that rep range, she will still make gains.

I believe doctors will cover their asses with very conservative recommendations.
Go to a physical therapist or a trainer to get a straight answer.
Don't let your doctor sideline you because they are afraid of lawyers.
(* Always follow the recommendations of a competent healthcare provider and don't listen to people on the internet.)
* For the lawyers.

I'm thinking Ehler Danloss Syndrome. EDS. It's a progressive illness, not per se life threatening but the connective tissue is just suboptimal. And that's causing problems as the machine gets older.

Can't she do machines for the safety factor? She should had asked Bob n Brad.

I can't recommend the Agoge diet enough, that stuff helped me gain so much muscle.
