Well done Synology!!!! Had a Nas for years but never used it to its full potential as it had no easy tutorials on how to set it up to do stuff like this. Great video, easy to understand and follow. Keep up this type of videos 🙏👍

This video solved all my problems. Wasn't easy to find in the Knowledge Center. Once properly setup, I am now backing up all my computers in my home office. I have TB's to move over to my DS1621+. I am moving all my files from a failing Drobo. Thanks Synology I wish I would have bought one of your NAS sooner.

I’ll be honest this looks like a stripped down version of SpaceREX. It’s good and gets to the point. I think most people coming to YouTube for these types of APPs on their DSM are looking for a little more information. I bought my mom one of these and we had such a hard time setting it up for the first time all the permissions and folders. There really is a lot going on when you’re new. I think if you took just a few min on a couple of critical steps this video would be great. Thank-you keep up the good work.

Drive works well from Windows 10 to DSM. The Drive app for Android does not synchronize with anything. Syncthing on DSM doesn't work because Administrator permissions aren't recognized. There appear to be other problems as well. Syncthing on Androied works fairly well with Windows 10 (it may work with others). Create an area on Windows to store Android data. Turn off Drive on Windows. Synchronize Android to Windows. Turn off Syncthing and turn Drive back on to synchronize the Android data on Windows to DSM. Drive and Syncthing don't play nicely with each other. I hope Synology eventually upgrades the Drive app to be able to synchronize Android with DSM. NB: Syncthing usually loses track of parts of its synchronization. There are no logs or debug tools to try to rectify the situation. The usual instructions are to delete all your data and start over. I would avoid using Syncthing in a production environment Unfortunately, it's the best thing out there.

How do I sync selected folders from my PC to the NAS? I've had my Synology NAS for years, but a recent update wiped to Drive Client out my sync task. Now all I can do is what's in this video. I used to sync all my PC's files (photos, Word docs, videos, work, etc etc), so I had the whole of my data drive E selected, and My Docs on C. I can't see this option now.

Very good idea, very poorly thought out and implemented. Who on earth needs an extra level of directory structure in the form of a SynologyDrive folder on top of everything else? Why not just allow users to sync directly into a bare folder/directory on your HDD/SSD? That way, you could have your shared folders on the NAS sync directly to mapped drives on your PC's local SSD storage and have *much* faster access to files - especially for older NAS'. This would also allow you to reduce the risk of losing all your local data if a partition goes down.
