Free File Sync is an amazing file sync program for mac or pc (although I talk about it from a mac perspective).

Even copies within packages on a mac - this saves a lot of time!

Can one direct the app to check subfolders on the right? The app seems to only check the root of the folder on the right, when the file could be in a subfolder. In my use-case, this is what is needed.

Is it similar to synchthing? Can syncronize specific folders on different computers?

Good video. However, it doesn't mention anything about scheduling/automation. Does FreeFileSync allow you to run syncs automatically? For example, can it be configured to run a sync job every Monday @ 6pm or whenever a directory changes, etc.?

EDIT: Never mind. I just checked the training videos on their site and apparently you can automate things, but some of that automation isn't built into the program - you have to use Windows Task Manager. From their tutorials, I guess the RealTimeSync module can be used to eliminate the need to use Windows Task Manager, to some degree. Still, it would be great to see all this functionality built into the program in a future version - hopefully, soon.

I used FFS some years ago but have recently come back to it. However I cannot get the app to close the Settings window and return to the configuration window. It seems this may be an issue with the app from what I've read on the net. Anyone experienced this and found a way round?

I love it. It seems to have copied a file inside the HD I use for backups.... So I have like two copies basically of the same content. One of everything and one inside a folder of everything somehow. I got to figure out how to update it to remove the duplicate files.

Does it app have memory limitations? I tried a different app couple months back. I need to transfer my 4tb drive to a new one. At one point the app froze and also windows. I could not do anything. Did a hard reboot and this caused me to loose 100gb of data :(
On osx i always used carbon copy for this type of syncing. But i got a windows laptop for 2 years now. Haven't touched that new driver be since

Question. My application does not look like this, with all of these options and deep functionality. Is that because it's the free version? Mine is a tiny box with just a browse button for a source folder.

I get errors when i add cloud drive to sync, so this tool will not work if you want to sync to cloud drive or network, compare with this aomei backupper is more useful
