The greatest rival in F1 for Alonso is Adrian Newey

People don't know, Alonso won Lemans twice on his first attempt. Won Daytona on his first attempt. He might not be the best in F1 but he's probably the best all around driver. And he's proven it.

Fernando is one of the most skilled/gifted drivers F1 has ever seen. His biggest challenger is himself.

Alonso is amazing. He started in the worst car a Minardi learned his craft to get better cars. When he said he was coming back to F1 i thought he would be like Bottas spinning around at the back. But he is fast strong and powerful and capable of challenging Max and Lewis the 2 best drivers. Alonso is young at heart and that is what you need in F1. He is not just another driver to old for the sport.

Nigel Roebuck, who has been writing about f1 for over 50 years and has forgotten more about the sport than all of the randoms in this comments section combined, has described Nando as the greatest driver this century. I'll trust his opinion over just about anyone's on this.

I must add, Fernando doesn't cause crashes with other drivers, ALL the other champions since probably Jackie Stewart have.

As a spaniard I appreciate videos like this. There's only one thing missing in his career....luck. If he would've driven a Redbull he'd have 7 or 8 champs. LeMans winner, Daytona winner, Top 10 in the Dakar and still racing hard at his 40's. Top 5 ever in my opinion.

In a funny way, his McLaren days might have been one of the best things that could have happened to motorsport, because it led Fernando to try out and bring a large amount of attention to other things, such as his adventures in Indianapolis and in endurance racing. If it wasn't for him, I might have never discovered just how much awesome motorsports there is to be found outside of F1, and I will be forever thankful to my hero Fernando for showing me that.

Many People can said, "How Compare Alonso with Senna, Schumi, Hamilton..." They can see the words of Jenson Button, Frank Williams, Toto Wolf, Christian Horner, Felipe Massa, Alain Prost, Jack Stewart... about Fernando. I think these people know what they're talking about.

The more you look into him the more youll realise hes one of a kind. Enjoy him as long hes still in f1.

If all the cars were the same I honestly think he would have dominated.

He doesn't need a button to pass, nor a dominant car to fight for championships until the last race, give him a decent car and he will be there even at over 40 years old. Pure f1 and spectacle, he has had many fierce battles and has not forced anyone against the wall. F1 needs him. He is my goat

The Great Fernando Alonso is the only reason why I still watch F1! Grande Fernando, El Matador, El Samurai 👺🔥 The GOAT 🐐

Good video production and oration but I think the arguments and direction of the video went in a different path once you started talking about Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen's dominance, as if it lost focus of the original purpose of the video. Alonso is for sure one of the best drivers of this era but you could have added more about his retirement from F1 and his stints in WEC and Indycar to drive the point home about his status as an elite driver in all of motorsports.

Alonso would have been a 5x World Champion if luck was on his side in 2007, 2010 & 2012

Alonso will no doubt go down as one of the biggest what ifs in F1! He deserves way more championship than what he has, he he went to Red Bull in the V8 day he could have been a 6 time WDC!
