But as always in the history of sports, the changing of the guard happens. Fernando Alonso was still at the top of his game when Lewis Hamilton was being given the keys to be the top driver of Renault. I think that Alonso had problems with Ron Dennis, not with Lewis Hamilton. Ron wanted Alonso to go to every Mclaren event (dinners, presentations...) and Fernando didn't made all those appearances, unlike Lewis (as a rookie, you try to be formal and live up to the boss' expectations hahaha). The incident in Hungary originated when Ron wanted Lewis to do an extra lap, while it was Fernando's turn to do so.

That bad management from Ron Dennis costed both pilots the Championship as they were too much competitive. You could also say that Lewis lost the title in China (got stuck before the pit lane) and Fernando lost it in that Hungary penalty after the famous pit stop wait.
But I feel that if Lewis was allowed to overtake Alonso in Monaco, and Ron Dennis respected Fernando's extra lap in Hungary, the season ending could have much different that it was.

Fernando is a great driver but the way he has behaved internally in the teams he has been in is his own way ruining things for him self, which is why he never won any championships after 2005 and 2006

So here is what actually happened, it doesn’t sound like this guy actually watches f1. Mclaren fucked alonso all season in 2007 to favor Lewis. It was so bad that the FIA even had to send in investigators into the garage at the end of the 2007 season to make sure they were giving alonso equal equipment to Hamilton. Mclaren were also giving Hamilton all of Alonso’s telemetry data. There was no way a non British driver was going to beat a British driver in the British team Mclaren, especially since hasn’t been a British champion since 1996. Alonso and Hamilton tied on points in 2007. The unfair treatment and favoring of Hamilton is why alonso left Mclaren.

What a load of half-baked crap. He doesn't hate Hamilton - a bit of envy, no doubt. But actually, most of the time he's complimentary. Back when Vettel had more championships than Hamilton, Alonso stated that Hamilton was the better driver. He's already said this season that he's driving well, it's just the car and bad luck.

7:02 That's completely false, Alonso never said he defended to give Verstappen more chances to win the title... He defended so his teammate could have the chance of winnning because Hamilton was going at least 2 seconds per lap quicker so he would've overtaken Ocon if he didn't defend. What its true is that Verstappen thanked Alonso for the defence because it indirectly helped him in the title fight.
