FINAL REVIEW after 4 weeks use: Rim ringz's don't work

after a month use, I dont recommend rim ringz's. they do not work! i accidently hit a curb today and it ripped the rim ringz out and scratched my rims. I'm pulling these out and trying alloygator's.

I had mines on for a year now nothing has fallen off and yeah I did hit the curb more than once with the Rim Ring. Mines sits flush to the tires it doesn't stick out like that. You did not install them properly.

These should be described as decoration. If folks think they prevent curb rash on expensive rims they will be sadly disappointed. I'm thinking of getting a set with the expectation that any contact with a curb is going to tear them up. The other ones will also fail as curb protectors because they too are made of thin plastic. Unless you get something that protrudes - proud of the rim surface and hard like iron or steel, you will get curb rash. It's pure mechanics - heavy vehicle, rubbing against a stationary object with pressure against a coarse finish, you get the point - or the rub :)

I had the same problem with a competitor product, Once I used grill or glue gel, small tube, One small drop every 2". Security with once again gorilla tape for half an hour to apply pressure,
Tested after 6 months up to a 110 miles per hour all good

Don't bother with RimSkins either. They don't stick. I have had two fall/fly off within two weeks of fitting them. The remaining two are now loose in places. The "fix" is to re-stick them with a heat gun but that only lasts a few days. The seller will not honour the warranty either. They say oh you didn't clean the rims properly. Then when I tell them they were brand new, "oh you have to scuff them first all new rims are coated with silicon. The excusess went on...

As I see your tires are narrow compering your wheel. Check installation instruction before you use it.

Hi, what kind of rings did you put on the rims at the end? Rimringz or Alloygator?

I've had mine about 2 years and they still on look at how his tire sits away from the rim edge and he wondered why his came off

Ask the Alligator salesperson whether he guarantees that the 'Gators will not come detached and rip-up the side of your vehicle! Likelihood is he will deny all responsibility after the car leaves his premises. These are all hit-and-miss solutions that transfer the money from your pocket to theirs.

Maybe let the tyre pressure down first? Jack up the car. Then use lube and a big mallet.

Maybe instead of spending $100+ on some gadget, you should sign up for a rudimentary driver's course, and just learn how to parallel park...
