My dream is to become a nascar driver but I'm nervous to tell anyone cuz I'm a girl and I'm afraid people won't take me seriously and help me peruse my dream. We have local go cart tracks were you can take lessons but I'm scared people will judge me. Ever since I was like 4 and saw the movie "cars" for the 1st time I've been fascinated with racing but most of all speed, I want to go fast. When I was 4 my parents put me into swimming and I've now been doing it for almost 10 years. My parents are convinced that I'm destined to be a swimmer when I'm older, but I want more speed than swimming could ever give me. This is the first time I've ever said anything about my goal.

Racing is most definitely not an equal opportunity sport. The financial barrier to entry is so great that I'm willing to bet that if racing was as cheap to get into as say Basketball or Football that 99% of the best drivers wouldn't even make it past the Varsity highschool race it had little league, middle School, highschool & college racing.

Here's the math. There are over 40 million kids who play in little league/middle School football, there's over 1 million playing in high school, 70, 000 play in college and of these 1, 700 make it to the NFL. If racecar driver's really had to compete with a significant amount of the population like in baseball, football & basketball there would be an entirely different field of professionals & racing would have a bigger fan base than the NFL or NBA because true love & admiration of the sport comes from every little kid having the chance to compete in it.

Even though I'm 77 years old, I want to be a NASCAR driver. I'm currently training with Ricky Stenhouse. Actually, I've been crashing my own car daily to train.. I'm ready to drive after my new glasses arrive.

I'm going to race in the K&N east series at watkins glen in like 2020 or 2021. I'm currently 15 and I race at a speedway near my house, but it's different because they wet the track and it's just a normal car, not a stock car or anything

I want to start racing but my only problem is money. When ever I have enough, probably I will start the early 2020's.

2020 edit: yeah money is still an issue and right now I'm going to Trade School. I don't know If I should still fulfill this dream career. So no I haven't started but still want to. Just don't know where to start.

Most drivers started when they where really young kids and they moved up from there and they had to know nascar drivers to get into the business.

So, in short, start out in karting, then step up to a short track car, then move up to a touring series, then go into either the k and n series or the arca series, then into the truck series and Xfinity and then the cup series and then my journey to becoming a Nascar driver is complete?

Kachowww! Lightning McQueen ahh man since a kid my 3 word was Lightning McQueen ( 1 was dad and then mom 😅) since a kid i always loved racing, just like my dad I want to become a racer and make the dream of my dad he always wanted to become one but they never accepted him in any team so I will be a racer to make my dad proud and show him that we can all make our dreams true if we never give up ⚡️
