How to close open apps on the iPhone x, 11, 12

Learn how to close all open apps on the Apple iPhone X (10), XR, XS, XS Max, iphone 11, 11 pro, 11 pro max, iphone se second gen, iphone 12 mini, 12, 12 pro, 12 pro max in this short tutorial video. I also describe how to close all open apps on older iPhones like the 8, 7, or 6 that have a dedicated home button. These methods also works for any ipad or ipod.

The iPhone keeps apps open in the background to improve performance with multitasking between apps.

To close all open apps on the iPhone 11 or 10, simply swipe up from the button of the screen and pause halfway. You'll then see all the apps that are currently open. Swipe an app up to close an individual app. Alternatively, swipe multiple apps to close several apps at once.

On the iPhone 8, 7, 6, or prior, double tap the home button. You'll then see all apps that are currently open. Similar to with the iPhone 11 or 10, swipe an app up to close an individual app or swipe multiple apps to close several apps at once.

In this video, I use an iPhone 12 to demonstrate how to close one or multiple apps.
