Almost 4 years post stroke and the fear is higher. My observation is that now my love is more aware. That, on top of spasticity, weakness, balance problems still. Still a few more miles to go, hopefully this get to a point were it is easier on everyone around. Thanks for your videos, my love one has been getting inspired to do more to become independent. Lots of good instructions.

No "risk" no "gain." Be diligent & thoughtful at all times, and live.

Thank you for all the great information. I have that fear all the time. Even more when navigating the places I work at. It's like my spatial orientation goes offline at times. I just stay aware of my surroundings at all times.

The fear of falling is real. I feel bad after I got a rehab and hit my head on the ceramic floor. I remember seeing “Ow that hurts.” And that’s the last thing I remember. The next thing I know I was crawling between the potty in the bathtub all disoriented

I fell backwards 2 times after 6 months recovering from a stroke, I would roll my body up, then relax when my butt hits the ground. But after 7 years I fell side way, fractured my hip, the femur operation was done. I no longer had the fear of falling as I already learn to walk without a can at home

I'm really shocked by most people's comments. That even after years they are still having fear. I am 8 months out and I have fear too, and drop foot. Ive had close calls. It's very frustrating that it takes this long to try to get your walk back. When do you start looking up when you walk? Is that automatic? Or do you have to force yourself to start looking up?

Both my falls were terrible. I wasn't even thinking about it. The worst was my foot drop in the beginning when I tripped coming out of the shower. I went flying face first into the wall 😢

It's been 11 months today and I think I'm more afraid of falling now than I was at first. My body feels stiffer and less pliable and less resilient. I'm pretty sure I'll break something if I do fall again.

Oh yes I'm intelligent enough NOT to go out when it's icy. But the fear is still there. One good thing about my stroke I got to change my house and get rid of the junk. 😅😅😅
