My New E-Drum Kit! (Donner DED-200 Review)

Today I tested out the Donner DED-200, an entry level E-drum kit. Enjoy!

Right on thos sounds good to me. I know this is a year old I'll have to see where your are now. Im actually getting this same set this weekend for $100 to start. Im 50 years old always wanted to learn and didn't want to use up too much space. If I get really into it I'll upgrade but for now I'm excited and glad I found your video. People will always dog others about what they have but I think these things are pretty amazing because when I was young we didn't have this option and definitely not in this price range.

the donner ded-200 is hands down the best pure beginner kit on the market. everything a new drummer would need comes with it, with sound quality similar to bigger name brands like Alesis. havnt finished the video, but i hope you like the kit!

The machine gunning with the samples when you do rolls sounds so artificial. That's the main problem with these cheaper kits.

I am sorry you got that e-kit. If you truly are a drummer or really want to learn how to play a drum set correctly, then do not waste your money on a lower-end budget friendly e-kit as drummers consider those toys of a drum kit. You can learn the very basics on it only. If you truly want to learn to play a drum set and you want an e-kit you need a high-end e-kit as they are 99.9% like a real accustic drum set to play. The lower-end "beginner" e-kits are only like 20% of what a drum kit should play like. If you take what you learned on the Donner e-kit and apply it to an accustic kit or a high-end e-kit because they play, respond, and sound so different there will be a relearning curve to get you used to how a drum set does and should respond. Case in point is I had a similar set to the DED-200 as well as an accustic kit. The accustic kit due to how loud it is. I could not play it often. The e-kit I had, I thought, was ok until I would play my accustic kit. The accustic kit was so different than the e-kit that it took me a while to get reused to it from my e-kit. Years later, I moved to where I could not play my accustic kit so I saved up and got a high-end e-kit. That was a total game changer as it plays just like my accustic kit. The difference between a lower-end e-kit and a high-end e-kit is that the lower-end e-kits just do not have the feel, response, dynamics or sound of an accustic kit that a high-end e-kit has. Also high-end e-kits have more zones per pad just like an accustic kit. High-end e-kits are generally bigger and have realistic accustic size pads. Lower-end e-kits usually have a small flimsy rack with small pads. My point is if you want to learn guitar do you first start with a toy guitar? Then if you really want to learn to play a drum set why start with a toy of one? I do understand that good e-kits are expensive and a lower-end e-kit are more budget friendly but a high-end e-kit is well worth saving up for as the difference between a high-end e-kit and a lower-end e-kit is like night and day.
