For a normal guardsmen yet it’s pretty ridiculous. Give those to a terminator astartes and they’ll be fine. Basically a terminator claw with out the functional grip and lighting

Yes, but the power you apply to your strike would be equally divided between all the knives and that would make it like laying on a board with a lot of nails.

Aside from this design adding literally nothing to slashing attacks, spreading the same amount of force over multiple blades is most likely going to reduce stabbing effectiveness. Tridents are a good example of this. They have less penetrating power than a single spear point. Sure you get three pokes, but if they don't go deep enough to damage a vital organ or artery, it's not a great trade off. Of course they make up for this by having other useful attributes in combat such as catching the enemy's blade for a potential disarming maneuver.

On the other hand this abomination adds nothing and most likely detracts from both damage and mobility. File it firmly under grimderp.
