I'm planning to start a bass fishing club at my high school when it gets a little warmer here in NC, this was awesome to watch.

I joined a fishing club! I was the only girl and unfortunately the kids were not very welcoming. They also expected me to buy $300 rain suit, thousands of dollars in rods and reels, and thousands of dollars in tackle. Everybody there was 14 or under. Lucky for them all of their parents fished so they could get equipment that way. Nobody in my family, (immediate or extended) are fishers so I have to buy every single piece of tackle I own. Our neighborhood has a yard work service so I can't do yard work to make money, and I've called soooo many places and no one wants to hire an inexperienced 13 year old. 😂 Ive been buying Tackle off lemonade stands and yard sales. During the meeting they would talk about tournaments and I had no idea how they worked. (Which isn't their fault, just my lack of experience) The funniest thing was that everyone went around the room and said the weight of their biggest bass, and guess who had the biggest? ME!!! Just thought I'd share that story to show that you don't need a bunch of equipment or tackle to catch big fish, it's all on your determination and how much time you take to learn the sport. In the summer, (I have my own Jon boat from the '70s) I am on the water for around 4-8 hours a day! You learn a lot that way. Not only that but I've read about 15 fishing books in the past 7 months and watched hundreds of videos on how tos for fishing. Fishing clubs can be great for But this particular club was not the one for me.

a huge perk of living around Cincinnati we have a cabelas, bass pro, and field and stream within like 30 minutes of each other

I am at that Cabelas all the time.. it is so hit or miss. When they get their orders in it's worth it. Otherwise just head to bass pro down the street..
