So I need to point this out it seems the Switch version is a port only from the PS3 version.
It has no enhanced frame rate or resolution, it is the same as the PS3 version.

Everybody play this game if you haven’t!!

Cutscenes are amazing and it’s a shame ni no kuni 2 didn’t have those cutscenes

NiNoKuni 2 is a ok game but this one is way better, story and characters especially are leagues better in my opinion.

I don't think I'll be buying it again but it's great for people who never owned a PS3.

I bought this game last night. I'm only around 5 hours in and I'm already calling it an all time favorite. The magic that is Ghibli really shines through in the storytelling and art style. As if that isn't enough, the soundtrack is mindblowingly amazing. It will really remind you of the power and importance that music plays in the overall experience. So glad I picked up this masterpiece 😊

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is one of my favourite games ever. The sequel was good but lacking something for me. I feel the story isn't anywhere near as profound, and the characters aren't nearly as well-rounded. I actually think the soundtrack is every bit as good as the original, but the first game is far more memorable, so I have fonder memories of the music, if that makes sense. The first game has aged really well and, as much as I love it, I don't think it needed a remaster. It's nice people who missed it the first time around get to play it, but I have no intention of buying it again. My PS3 copy looks great as it is.

I'll be buying again on PS4. I love this game. It holds a lot of sentimentality for me, as it's the first JRPG that I ever persevered with and completed 100%. Absolutely stunning masterpiece in my opinion 😊

Bought the PS3 version day one, bought the second installment day one and this remaster as well on day one. I think I’m addicted to this series <3

I really wish level 5 would remaster or remake rogue galaxy. such a beautiful game. A lot of the game mechanics is similarly used in the ni No kuni series

Great review. It’s remarkable how much less aliasing there is in the PS4 Pro version (this is especially noticeable in how much less “shimmering” there is in the white picket fences.)

It’s wonderful that many people will get to discover this beautiful version of this truly wonderful game that no doubt many missed.

Everyone's been talking about Zelda and Dragon Quest but the whole time I've been most hyped about Ni No Kuni, as I never played the original release.

This game was my reason for getting a PS3. When I realized that KH3 wasn't coming to PS3, I honestly didn't consider getting the console, but then I heard that Studio Ghibli was getting involved in making a game with Level 5, I immediately said, "WHEN!?" So yeah, I was interested in the PS3 (and I think this was right before I found out that my fav game was coming to the PS3 too, Eternal Sonata). Needless to say the original game is one of my fav games because I found the story so charming (I often say Studio Ghibli is the Disney of the East because generally they make great content that's good for all ages). Funny enough, after playing this game, I finally decided to give Pokemon a try since both have similar mechanics.

It also occurred to me that Oliver is the first JRPG protagonist I've done that isn't a sword wielder or at least his specialty isn't in hitting and strength. I know that's why you have familiars that are like that, but it's still interesting.

Now as much as I love the original, I don't know if I'll get this remaster version since the only change is the visuals. I still like my PS3 one and I'd rather save up for something else. I actually never got the 2nd game, only because I felt the story was more standard and after watching a let's play of the game, I felt it wasn't worth it.

I got the Collectors Edition when it was released. I still have it, it had a physical copy of Oliver's book and a golden coin and a few other things, its beautiful. lol

I have the physical spellbook for the original game, it's one of my rarest video game items.
