We all like to believe we would defend our home if attacked even against the odds, but Ukrainians are actually doing it. No matter what happens they have 'passed the test', I just hope the rest of 'the west' passes too. I mean strategically Putin lost as soon as the Ukrainians decided to fight, the only question is how many people need to die. No matter what happens Ukraine's history and culture will endure and unless all of 'the west' falls they will end this war sovereign. Hindsight and history will judge us on whether we should have called Putin's bluff to save lives or continued to watch as Ukrainians defended us all.
Although it would have started another war if we had helped them after WW2 I still feel Poland's fate was a deep shame, I hope Ukraine doesn't become another one.

Just a note, the agreement on refugee corridors would seem odd to go to Russia, and the news videos showed lines of empty buses that were sent in to pick up refugees., Particularly ethnic russians but leaved empty.
