WATCH: Rep. Crockett questions Secret Service director at hearing on attempted Trump assassination

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, questioned Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle in a House Oversight hearing Monday on the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a July 13 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
After Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., connected diversity, equity and inclusion efforts to the assassination attempt by calling Cheatle a “DEI horror story,” Crockett asked Cheatle if DEI factored into the shooting.
"The incident on the 13th has nothing to do with DEI. The incident on the 13th has to do with a failure or a gap either in planning or communication,” the director said.
