Having a tough time finding part 16 with the pushrod measurement, goes straight to 17. Working on an almost identical setup only with 289 heads. Wonderful series, thank you!

Thanks, I did the lifter prime and got no oil flow . Then discovered that the gasket for the oil pump didn’t have the journal hole punched out. This test saved me hours of work and headache discovering the problem early.

Using oil on the lifters, not assembly lube is important to know--thanks!
I'll be replacing the lifters, lapping the valves, replacing the timing gears and chain on my '71 Maverick with the inline 200.

Do you use this same procedure to pump up hydraulic roller lifters before measuring for pushrod length? Thanks!

Hi Alex, good stuff as always. Can't wait for the rocker/pushrod geometry check. What springs were recommended by Comp for this cam and lifters? Stock should be ok right? Thanks for sharing. Blessings from Motown, Home of Detroit Muscle.

Why 351 heads?

Love these videos. I measured my push rods and I need the exact size you put in this engine but I can’t find 6.75 length. Where did you get yours? Thank you for taking the time to respond.

What would you gap a sparkplug on a 302 with hei distributor?

I was going to run the oil pump with a 1/4" socket and accidentally used a 9/32" socket..🙃 Someone put the socket in the wrong location.

What happens if I stripped out that 1/4" driver on the oil pump?

It's cool to see the oil ooze up through the lifters when you spin the oil pump. It's a great way to know it's going to happen when the engine is all buttoned up and you're heading down the road. :)
