Fake Con Edison workers rob Brooklyn woman

Police are searching for two suspects who posed as Con Edison employees and robbed a Brooklyn apartment Tuesday morning, police said.

I'm a little confused about this entire story. The reporter keeps saying, this happened on Tuesday about 2:30 in THE MORNING. This woman (who seems to be quite elderly) said, she got off the elevator and saw two people by the stairs with face mask on. She opened her apartment door, went inside, then she heard a knock on her door, Somebody claiming to be Con Edison ? Where was this elderly lady coming from at 2:30 am ? And why would she open her apartment door at 2:30 am ? When she didn't even call Con Ed ? Something about this story is off.
