What do you think? Launch in January, February, or March?

If this thing makes it to orbit without an unscheduled RUD, it will go down as one of the most insane feats of human ingenuity ever, even more so than the Saturn V and SLS. If the SLS is a Hippo, the Starship is an overgrown elephant in a literal size allusion. Starship is like half the size of the One World Tower in NYC. Its insane! Its like strapping 20 MAOB bombs to the bottom of a rocket and controlling the explosions into orbit. I cannot wait, and I fully credit SpaceX for reigniting Americas fascination with Space.

You're the first major Space channel with these updates. And the view count proves it. Great updates!

I'm feeling very excited and anxious for this next set of launches. I'm a huge science fiction fan and the test launch phase is always celebrated and this feels like I'm living in this time. People will look back on this in history the same way we look back at the launches that sent us to the moon for the first time.

Been a fan of SpaceX for many years, Starship development has been infinitely awesome, thanks WAI for all your insights, making the most of this SnailX period. Once the launch happens they are going to speedup to their usual SpeedX development!

I am pretty sure that they can do a successful orbital test. It is the recovery with the chopsticks that would make me sit semi-paralyzed in awe when it happens for the first time.

Didn't think I could be more excited than starship but the Stoked space idea sounds amazing

Conveyor stack style release mechanism is a lot more difficult to pull off, especially in space where gravity does not assist. Each one needs to be pushed down and out individually with the current slot iteration.

8:20 It is unknown whether they will perform a full test of all the engines at once or not. Incremental testing may suffice. Conducting a full set of engine tests while the rocket is locked down would exert significantly more stress on the stage 0 and the booster than it would experience during launch. It may not be necessary to do this.

I met WAI cameraman Chief will visiting starbase in august. Just like the rest of the WAI team, he was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and friendly.

I'm sorry I have been watching you forever but this is the first good video since you left and went to the USA. Thanks and keep it up.

The test stresses put on each hold-down are likely to well exceed 250 tons, since that is "just" the nominal launch weight divided evenly among the 20. They must take into account uneven distributions and other effects such as stresses due to wind on the vehicle, not to mention the usual safety factors, quite possibly 1.5x to 2x. (You did cover the base with your "at least".)
