Starship Flight 5 Completely Ready To Launch! FAA Lience Coming TODAY...
Let’s get started!
SpaceX has completed the final preparations for Starship, with flight announcements from both the company and Elon Musk coming in regularly. By the time you watch this video, the FAA may have already granted the launch license for this flight.
In addition, SpaceX received further good news as the FAA approved the resumption of Falcon operations. There are also intriguing updates regarding the X-37B.
Join us as we begin the countdown to Flight 5 with these key developments on today's episode of Great SpaceX.
Starship Flight 5 Completely Ready To Launch! FAA Lience Coming TODAY...
We are now in the final hours before Flight 5, a highly anticipated event after months of preparation. Recent days have seen a ramp-up in activity, with SpaceX completing the full stack of Flight 5 hardware.
On the morning of October 11, SpaceX successfully lifted Ship 30 onto Booster 11. Both stages had previously been equipped with the FTS (Flight Termination System), and the stacking process, which lasted 40 minutes, went smoothly. This marks the third—and final—full stack of the Flight 5 hardware, signifying its readiness for launch.
The countdown has officially begun.

SpaceX also released stunning images of Starship and the launch site, accompanied by the announcement: “Starship stacked ahead of its fifth flight test. We expect regulatory approval in time to fly on October 13.” Elon Musk reposted SpaceX’s tweet, adding: “Looks like Starship might fly on Sunday! This is the largest and most powerful flying object ever made, with more than double the thrust of the Saturn V Moon rocket. We will try to catch it upon return to the launch site using the Mechazilla arms—like giant chopsticks (like Karate Kid)!”
The size and power of Starship have often been compared to the legendary Saturn V rocket, but to earn its place as a new icon, Starship must overcome many challenges. One of the most significant is Elon Musk’s goal of returning Super Heavy to the launch site and catching it with the Mechazilla Arm. A successful catch would mark a major achievement and further distinguish Starship from any other rocket.

To be resolved, thank you.

NASA and DoD can issue launch licenses w/o FAA approval. It seems FAA is standing on it’s date but NASA may issue a license to free up moon mission testing. Kathy Leuders and William H. Gerstenmaier work for SpaceX now but used to be top executives at NASA and i think maybe they used their contacts to get a license. NASA may have notified the FAA to issue NOTAMs and other necessary paperwork to let people know where to avoid. I think this will not be approved by the FAA but by NASA.

If there is only 1 pin on each side of the booster, and theres a +-12 deg range to catch on the pins, isnt there a 24/180 chance of uncontrolled pin catch? Why not 4 pins at least?
