I’ve been printing for 20 years and this right here is the video I’m going to send when people ask me how to get into printing. Nice job!

I kind of love that you printed your merch by hand instead of just getting another company to mass produce it for you.

My father and I did screen printing back in the 70s long before computers - and it was caveman style compared to the easier methods these days. This was fascinating to watch and to compare to how we did things on a much more primitive method. I'd forgotten about the need for lots of flat surfaces to allow drying. We used to fill every flat surface, table, countertop...throughout every room in the house back then, lol. I still recall demonstrating silk screening as my 8th-grade science fair project in school and it was a big hit with fellow students and teachers. We printed participation ribbons (1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons) for our track and field day during the science fair - so it was also a very practical and constructive science fair exhibit. I got an 'A' grade on it, hehe.

The best part "no decision making". That sold me on buying a machine instead of building!!! Your hair is awesome!!! I wouldn't add color...but I am a big fan of a black and white clean minimalist look.

Multi color printing sounds like a good idea although I do love the simplicity of white ink on a black background.

As someone who's been running a tshirt screenprinting shop for 20 years I very much appreciate all the work you put into making everything yourself. I use industrial size equipment like automatic presses, dryer, flash units, and a big light table that takes 6 seconds to burn the image into the screen. Makes me appreciate the equipment I use a lot more after watching this lol...Keep up the good work!

You are amazing! My wife and I enjoy your videos very much! The world would be a better place if more people put their heart and soul into the things that they do with their hands. We both send our love and wishes for your health and prosperity!

It's better to tape inside corners of the screen to let the frame live longer. Also you can reuse the same mesh in the same frame by removing light-sensetive emulsion and reapplying new emulsion. Mesh will be damaged over time (there will be tiny bigger holes), but it's ok if it's ok for you personally. Also plastisole ink is a great option, it doesn't dry during work and lasts longer on the fabric

I have had a hobby screen printing press kit for close to 20 years...I have not dared to try it. This has helped, thank you! Blessings.

I started as a letterpress compositor in 1976 and still love all kinds of image making using Photoshop and Corel Draw, I really enjoyed your video.

This is really wonderful. You cover all the practical points that a beginner will encounter. And you get to live in Porto!! How lucky are you. My family in Ireland are always visiting Porto. It looks so beautiful. Love your videos. You are a natural teacher.

Screen printing continues to be one of the most effective and efficient printing media on the market, and one of the cheapest, as well as reducing production costs from 50 copies. In addition to this, it can print a wide variety of materials, and also allows an interesting variety of special effects by varying the number of threads per inch of the screen, and the type of inks. Very good video and thank you very much for sharing it.

screen printing is not a trivial thing, but an art that few know how to do but fascinates many.
it should be a school subject.
