The part of this scene I love that no one seems to mention is the fact that Minnie actively stops the mother from having some and only exposes the secret after deciding to prevent the mother from having to eat it as well. You can absolutely tell that Minnie liked and respected the mother FAR more than her daughter and made it clear she wasn't resentful at all towards the mom. After the laughter died down and the mom was given time to think, she would have had to realize this and felt even more sympathy for Minnie. This scene was spectacularly written.
