You know those moments in life that you just never want to end? A great meal with friends. A massive win at work. Your wedding day.

We have a tendency to yearn for the mountaintop moments in life to last forever. In part because of how incredible the mountaintop can be. But also because the valleys beyond seem to promise inevitable struggle and uncertainty.

Jack Beers reflects on how leaving the mountaintop may feel like a terrible trade-off, but in reality leads to the greatest opportunity of our lives.

I found myself tearing up when I consider that I too have had those moments in life that felt so close to heaven: Watching my wife walk down the aisle; Celebrating Mass in a small village chapel in a rural hamlet while on mission n Honduras and looking out over the fields as the sun set; Singing Panis Angelicus at my grandfather's funeral and not being able to fight back the tears as I got to the very last note of a song I never wanted to end. God certainly knows how to pack an emotional punch when he speaks to us.

Holy Spirit is there always with us to be with us to help us to be closer to God. Over the years I have had moments of heaven and moments of despair. I have found that the other things that God has given me has been beautiful when I do what God's wants me to do and do it with prayer and wisdom for the love of our Heavenly Father. Thank for Dynamic Catholic and the God we have and the promises we are given when we follow Jesus.
