In 13 years of public school, I knew one Indian. When I worked as a mechanical engineer for GE, half the people there were Indian. When I substitute taught Honors Chemistry, 40% of the kids were Indian. When I started out in IT, most of the people there were Indian.

I was chatting with an Indian-American and he told me how, when he expressed a desire to go to college, his father said okay, your choices are engineering or medicine. We need that kind of focus.

I think here in England they integrate better than any other race. They accept Western culture without trying to change it much. You can tell this as they even adopt the accent over time.

My personal experience. I was born poor in a village where there was no Highschool. I went to High school, college, and university and came to the USA, got a degree, and had a good job. Married a professional. Two kids. One went to Harvard, a Cardio Thoracic transplant surgeon. Another went to UCAL and became a physician. This takes a lot of work. ANYBODY CAN DO IT. Period.

I've stayed at some Asian-Indian owned motels and generally found it to be a very nice experience. In one case it warmed my heart that Grandma & Grandpa were in the apartment behind the office. "Mom" and "Grandma" were working on a meal for the family while "Dad" ran the counter. Their children seemed happy and involved in the family business. The entire atmosphere in that hotel instilled confidence in me as a customer.

Americans dont know that first intentional Universities began in India. Taxila, Nalanda etc., each housed 10, 000 students from all over the world. Formal mass Education itself began in India. Thats how much we value it.

Hindu Dharmic values are non violent, education oriented, pluralistic. This is the key. Why is it so easy to condemn Hinduism for it's short comings, but never okay to praise it for it's good effects? Even Thomas Sowell failed to do it.

My primary physician is from India and she is awesome, one of the smartest persons I have ever met. I'm sure they perform better because they keep their heads down and just focus on being good at whatever they do. That has been my experience with people of Indian descent I have met anyway.

As an Indian-American I will tell you all and something even Mr. Sowell probably isn't aware of, is this - Hindu Sanatan Dharma is what makes me financially rich but also, more importantly conscience. I will give up everything that I own but I will never give up my Dharma. Many Indians subconsciously follow Sanatan Dharma because it is that much ingrained in Indians. Money can be earned but not Dharma.

Indian Hindus keep education and nation above their religion whereas Indian muslims keep their religion before anything else. So, it’s not just related to being Indian. It’s Hinduism as a culture deep rooted in this community which keep them open to grow everywhere.

Also I just want to point out that at my high school, the smartest kids at the time were of Indian 🇮🇳, Pakistani 🇵🇰, Chinese 🇨🇳 and Korean 🇰🇷 origin.

Two things about Indian Americans that stand out: 1. There are more CEOs of Indian origin than native born us citizens in high tech industry, alphabet, Microsoft, adobe, ibm, you name it. 2. They dominate National Spelling Bee competition to the rate of 9:1 !

You really can’t compare the two groups as India is giving us their best .. same with Nigeria . Brain drain is real

The simple reason is that the Indian American are smart investors they Make numerous Stock investment Than White American this the practical truth I used to think every investor went broke during recession, meanwhile some make millions. I also thought everybody went out of business during the great depression, but some went into business. Bottom line, there's always depression for some, and profits for others. it all starts with having the right mindset. That said, I've set aside $265k for future, unfortunately I'm a complete noob.
