That second guy is the judgemental uncle in every Indian family.

It amazes me how the old generation doesn't see the downside of this generation, they only see the things that are easier. They ignore other things like the entry exams for college, gpa, needing to go to college to make a living, spending years to pay off the debt after college, the inflation that makes it hard to get a place, there are things that are easier but there is also things that are harder and they refuse to acknowledge it.

That uncle is the one who swam across the river to the school in the morning and then after taking tuitions for the teacher's son in evening returned via hills and spent entire night building his house alone and taking care of both his parents.

I feel like the old man who claimed that this generation was lazy didn’t understand that times have changed. As the saying goes “work smart not hard”. Hard work and education alone will only get you so far. Especially with the way things are now. As the woman pointed out, it’s also luck. Stuff that may have worked back then doesn’t now for various reasons.

Otherwise, the interviewees had valid points.

The first lady and the last guy sounded sensible with their opinions. The lady has a fair point that at least some initial wealth would be required to bootstrap an idea. Meanwhile the last guy is very optimistic yet realistic. He is right that one has to work 100x harder than someone who has generational wealth in their hands. But remember: *"Good times make weaker men. Bad times make stronger men."*

Man, it's becoming harder to relate and take note from older generation. Time's changed so much, they can't comprehend some things are just barely possible to achieve for many in this generation compared to theirs.

Oh man, the uncle just solidified the stereotypes I carry for desi adults. They really do not want to acknowledge that young people can have it hard, all they ever do is blame. Never encourage. Never empathize. Im sorry, I’ve just had my fair share of bad experiences with desi adults.

Nowadays a child coming from poor background barely has any chance to become super wealthy because of the limited exposure the child would have. Studying hard getting top grades boils down 0 if one doesn't have the right opportunity to grab.

It’s funny how so many middle aged people just copy paste the same dialogue and slander our generation. For once, I want to see someone offer actual insight and stay away from lazy comparisons

Why do they always say, if they "STUDY HARD" and how the present generation is LAZY, and shortcut
These things just act as trigger even if the person is doing its best☠️

when old generations say that our generation tends to take shortcuts they dont realise that the "shortcuts" that we try to take are wayyyy longer and way more difficult than the difficult paths old generations had

Blind hard work will get you no where.

You have to play your cards right, even a plumber does hard work as much as a model but still modeling is considered as the higher occupation.

You have to know the state of the market and the industry your getting urself into and accordingly act.

No one is gonna bring opportunities to you just because you do hardwork, you gotta act smart and be brave to make opportunities for yourself.

What older generations don’t understand is that younger generations don’t have it easier. There are a complete different set of challenges that they have to face such as increased competition, more education, demand for higher skills, as well as having to mature at an earlier age. This is how it will always be as society progresses.

The second uncle doesn't understand that so much has changed from his times. We have a huge population and limited resources when it comes to education especially higher education. Even if a person works extremely hard there is a higher chance of no making it. The truth is that luck and social background is a very important factor. Not everyone can just work hard blindly and become successful
