I would say the kid whose power literally desintagrates all organic beings around him in a radius of at least a city block had it worst then him. He couldnt turn it off either, so he was forced to kill his own family, girlfriends, schoolmates, and neighbors just by existing.
He then sucluded himself into a cave, where wolverine (whose healing factor allows him to regenerate cells faster than they are killed) approached him and put him out of his misery to save the image of mutants.
