So, hell eventually become galactus if marvel keeps it lore consistent. Galactus was a scientist who was there to witness the end of the multiverse and by some measure of chance he happened to be the last one alive due to some stuff he was doing in space. In those fleeting moments before the end of everything cosmic beings from across the multiverse came to him and gave him their power. As the multiverse was reborn into its current stage the scientist was gone, and in his place stood the devourer Galactus

I believe due to his immortality, he has the opportunity to become the new Galactus when the universe resets at the end. His costume color scheme is a slight nod to that.

That's horrifying. Uncountable trillions of years of nothingness.
And given the nature of his immortality, he'll be experiencing the excruciating pain of the vacuum of space the whole time.

The creature he will be at the end will bear no resemblence to anything human. His body may be intact, but his mind will have been mush after the first few millennia, a span of time that doesn't even register next to the horror of the nigh-infinity that lies ahead.
