This is one of those rare cases where the "anti-mutant injections" which take away mutants power would had been very helpful. Some mutant powers should just not exist.

These stories are why Wolverine is up there with Spider-Man, Batman, Hulk, Spawn, etc as having the worst life in comics. The hard decisions and consequences for these characters are crazy.

This reminds me of the comic with Spider-Man where he tries taking a kid who was grouped up with some thugs under his wing to turn his life around. He helped him with his homework gave him advance etc only to come back to his house too find his mother crying cuz the other thugs shot and killed him. Both wolverine and spidey have some of the saddest stories.

To be fair, even if that kid managed to control his powers, he'd really be too dangerous to live. His emotions would likely make him lose control or some evil org would turn him into a weapon

Wolverine brought him a 6 pack. Cigs, and porn mags. They sat and talked in the cave Andre figured out Wolvie was there to kill him. He brought all that stuff so he could experience it before he died. The boy accepted it and in the morning, wolverine walked out like "sometimes being the best at what I do sucks"

I understand forgetting him cause that’s his power, but are we gonna forget the dude who is immediately forgotten by everyone when they stop looking at him? Like, Professor X had to put an alarm that goes off in his brain every ten seconds just to remind him that he exists

Stories like this is why I always supported the "bad guys" who wanted to cure mutants of their mutations.

Logan was probably the best person to possibly interact with. Superhero- so he has that soft spot, but also a hunter- he understands if something needs to be put out of its misery, and immortal. If someone were ready to die, he could read it, as he’s felt the same way. Kid probably asked for Logan to end him.

One of the themes of X-Men has always been the idea that the powers these kids would get were somehow "gifts."

It's easy to forget that some gifts are unwanted.
