Here's an option #1:

1. Sign in to your YouTube account.
2. Go to 'Settings' by clicking on your avatar in the top right corner then clicking on the button next to the Creator Studio button.
3. In the 'Overview' section (direct link), click 'Edit on Google' next to your channel name.
4. Update the channel name and click OK.

Misleading title. I want to change my name on comments only

This is how you change the handle in the comments section ONLY! Click on your picture/icon, then YouTube studio. From there, go down to "customization." At the top you'll see basic layout, branding, & basic info- choose basic info. Click the pencil by your name & there you go! Only changes it on YouTube, not any other Google account.

I agree with the comment below - Misleading title.
I want to change my name on comments to YouTube videos only. I don't want my real name to appear (as it will here with this comment!). I want an anonymous name to appear for just the comments I want to make on these YouTube videos. How do I do that without creating another alternate account? Thank you!

This setting no longer exists... Very recently it changed my SN to something I never told it to. The current SN exists nowhere in my settings. :/

Thank you! After FINALLY seeing my full name when I commented on YouTube in this GLOBAL forum, I was mortified. I quickly searched for a way to change/update it to something more discreet. Thank for sharing! :)

I'm having an issue where my name and all the other comment names only show the names starting with @. So the first part of the names aren't showing. It must be a setting that I accidentally clicked but can't find anything.
