Classic case of: People fear what they don't understand

The non-chalant 'faker scientist' at 0:32 hand me in tears.

The combo of GCP BigQuery and AutoML tables simply can't be beat. All you have to do is upload a .csv to BigQuery, and with a few lines of SQL code, you can author an AutoML model - directly inside the BigQuery UI - and have the best-trained model on the planet in 30 minutes or less. As you say, ML democratization pretty much made a lot of data science jobs irrelevant, hence why so many of them are getting laid off left and right.

I really think the future of the data space is going to be strong data professionals who understand the cloud and know how to author data pipelines and architecture really well. The modeling, as you say, is a solved problem at this point.

Fireship IO just made a video on how AI will reduce the need for data analyst. It is also very hard now to get entry level jobs.

what are your thoughts on full stack web developer. will the web developer job replaced by ai

VERY VERY True. Now some of us are at a tail end i.e we are Data Analysts. Now to even become a juniour most Data Analyst, you have to learn basics as a human and not as a machine. There is a reason why Data analysts exist and are required in most organisations. FAKER Scientists who market themselves as UNICORNS can not do everything on their own even if they have the skills. In some environments they are not even required for day to day operations. So DATA ROLES are safe for now and in the distant future. One may argue that Business analysts can use AI to do the job of DAs, DEs and MLEs. Now a business analyst using CHATGPT to design test and implement a data pipeline, a job that can take 6 months for an experience real world data professional is not only insane but laughable...

Hi Mike, I am not in the IT space, so I have ZERO reference to go by. Why are so many people misinformed about the real-world requirements in machine learning and Data Engineering? Any theories?

I disagree with part of it. Data analysis and visualization can be done by AI with minimum intervention. “Last year’s revenue” is in the data

Thedatajanitor what about aspiring software developers? Any recommendations?

Not being acquainted with this area, what is the difference between data scientist and a data egineer?

Yeah at this point building ML model from scratch is just playing f*** stupid, use what’s available and know how to preprocess the data and do data visualizations save yourself some time and energy. I promise you there exists models that will take care of your silly little needs🙏

I have some skills on web (html, css, javaScript). What is the best way to master ML? Do I need university? I can not make a map to start over. I am asking cause I spent so much time passing through so called "tutorial hell" by jumping from one course to another one. Thanks

What happens to the unfilled ML roles? And is there a backlog "too big to 'learn'."

AI is so dumb. I have no idea why people are so afraid of it.

Mike could you give me two answers regarding data engineering
1.which language is best for data engineer Java or python because some are saying Java might be the best because of tools like Hadoop ecosystem
2. Is traditional skills are needed like Hadoop hive hdfs hbase map reduce in data engineering means we need to learn all these skills in proper depth or we should focus most on Spark snowflake cloud etc ...

Weird question but I hope you answer it in order to fight the stereotype: Do you have fixed hours? Or there's truth to the myth of being behind a computer 16 hours a day, 7 days a week working?
