The AI customer service part never ends well. People already skip the AI to go talk to a representative.

I deliver furniture. No way robots could do my job right now Maybe in 50 years. Boston robots are getting advanced, but not enough to navigate hallways and twisty stair cases, carrying 300lbs. They would destroy wood floors and knock down random thing's. Alot of ppl wouldn't trust them in their homes.

The WEF estimates you’ll eat bug soup and you’ll be happy to eat it

Dont worry delivery people, you are still outpacing those little sidewalk robots 100x.

The biggest problem is what to do with the unemployed workers. Not everyone has the temperament, brains, skills, and resources needed to go into their own business after mass layoffs.

The workplace would be so depressing if it were replaced with AI. It’s efficient but not human.

Everytime i meet a customer service without a person. I am out. As soon as possible. Definetly not a solution for every business

They said jobs were going to be created but have yet to tell me about a job that AI can't do.

This is important information! But you're a little off on that last one. Starship Technologies has never had any human couriers. They have always been a robot company. So "replaced all of its couriers" isn't exactly correct. Also, the vast majority of their services are on college campuses, where they deliver for on-campus food services. There were no previous couriers since students usually walked to those locations. In these cases, they created jobs where they didn't exist before (operations, technicians, etc). Though, as their AI improves they'll need less and less human intervention, so it will definitely replace their operations employees.

There's a UPS facility in Tennessee that is almost fully automated. They still need people to load and unload the trucks, but everything in between is taken care of.

You know what's not going to be replaced? Making a goddamn Rolex or Patek. It's just going to get more expensive because it's made by another human being.

> quoting WEF as a viable source
> also thinks shipping robots won’t be stolen as they already don’t work

Most people that order packages and/or food want it delivered to their door. How is a robot going to navigate entering apartment complexes, taking the elevator or having to go up stairs? Not going to happen for decades…

The advancements in AI technology have certainly impacted the job market, and it's important to understand which jobs are at risk of being replaced.

Anything that needs Robotics will not be replacing any job any time soon. The real jobs that will be replaced are the ones that need intellectual creativity sadly and don't involve manual labor, artists, writers, Para legals, music composers, you name it, if it doesn't require Robotics, it will go away

I dont give a damn honestly let them replace all jobs if they can so we can just chill on a basic income and do nothing….
