According to Article 101 of Saudi Labor Law, "Working hours and rest periods are regulated during the day so that the employee does not work for more than 5 continuous hours without taking a break for prayer, meal, or other activity that lasts at least 30 minutes, and so that the employee does not spend more than 12 hours a day at their place of employment". While the Article 102 of Saudi Labor Law states that, "the time given for rest, prayer, and mealtime are not part of the real working hours, and the employee is not under the employer's authority during these times. The employer also cannot force the employee to stay at work during these times".
