I turned 54 in October of 2023 and had my last cycle in September of 2023. So I’ve officially started perimenopause. Hot flashes started in September as well. I’ve been a devoted faster since June 21st 2023. I fasted every so often in the past five years but have a dedicated intermittent and extended fasting lifestyle in place now. It was reassuring for me to hear that my fasting lifestyle supports the healthiest transition I could possibly expect as I embark on the road toward menopause. Ty for this video!

I’m in my 40’s and it’s harder obviously now that in my younger years! I’m very regular so I’ve learned now to do everything according to my cycle! Diet; different needs on the 2 power phases of my cycle! Also times of fast and workouts! We need gentle exercises and shorter fast on manifestation and no fasting and low carb and gentle exercise on nurture phase! I’ve lost 25 pounds in 6 months! Totally worth it, more every, less acne and less cellulite ❤thank you so much Dr Mindy Pelz! Can’t wait for your book for us women over 40🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

What are your thoughts on fasting for post menopausal women on HRT? I had estrogen and testosterone levels in the single digits and decided to do the pellets. Just interested in your thoughts? I have been reading your book and considering fasting to improve my health.

I have been in menopause for going on nine years. I currently use estrogen patch and oral progesterone. I’m doing great I feel great. I am fasting for Autophagy purposes to overcome adult onset asthma. What do you suggest for me as far as fasting around hormones if my goal is a autophagy?Thank you

#MendyPelz Do any of your books address fasting women on HRT? I’m 68 and doing testosterone and estrogen. No uterus. Was in my mid 50’s before my doctor said I was post menopausal.

What about women who have had hysterectomy and their ovaries removed? I had uterine cancer at age 45. Is it any different because I don’t have ovaries? Is there anywhere else in the body that estrogen and progesterone are produced?

I had been in menopause for five years…started at 50 and am now 56. Started following Dr. Mindy’s fasting and glucose diet, and after 7 months, am having cycles again!! What does that mean???

I had a hysterectomy last year which (finally) put me into menopause (I am now 60 years old!).
I have hot flashes, night sweats and difficulty sleeping. I am currently reading through Dr Mindy's book 'Fast Like a Girl' which is awesome. The concept of ovulating with the moon has piqued my interest. Also I have been intermittent fasting for over 18 months now but am struggling a bit with my weight atm. I am excited to try fasting according to fast like a girl, it really makes sense.
Greetings from Australia. 💛

I can't stop giggling. I had to pause the video! It makes sense that a cycle is in sync with the moon. Blood is liquid, and the tide of the oceans are driven by the moon. but I started giggling when the thought came... "so that's where all the horror stories come from! The women all went off to their "Red Tent" leaving the mean behind in the village "proper" to tend to the kids and everything else. Everyone feels like they are getting a vacation from the humdrum of life (and the monotony of being around all the same people all the time.... oh the sisterhood bonds created in a Red Tent... I'm sure! maybe even some Ya-Ya sisterhood moments?) meanwhile back at the village.... men hear howling off in the distance. "What's that pappa?" "Nothing child... get in the house!" Men being afraid had to believe the threat was monstrous so.... of course there are vampires, werewolves, etc.

I’m 46 been in Menopause for a year and a half partial hysterectomy and Covid put me into early menopause. I have a partial thyroidectomy, but all tests are normal. I’m 75lbs over weight and have been doing 18:6 fasting for three weeks now with Zero success. I end my fast with Avocado and Tuna and an hour later mixed fresh fruits. I’ve switch to organic EVERYTHING and grass fed. My shopping bill went from $120 a week to over $400 😢 I feel like I’ve wasted money and deprived myself for nothing.

I spent 8 years in the perimenopouse period. After one year in menopouse my metabolism went to its lowest and I gained a lot of weight evnthough I played tennis5 times a week. Cutting down on bread, earing gluten free did not do the trick anymore. So, I eleiminated all types of flours, added sugars and wine. I also started having dinner earlier and without knowing it started 12/12 fasting. The truth is I've been heating healthy for a long time and Ive practiced tennis for more than 15 years so for me it was an easy process because I didnt have to re-educate to eat well, all I had to do was eliminate the bad stuff and it boosted my metabolism. I'm know following 16/8 fasting increasing sometimes to 18/6 or 20/4. My next goal is to do the 24 fasting for my gut health. I'm buying the Menopousal Reset book to get even better result. ❤

Fascinating interview. I've been in menopause for a year now and I always always always got my period on the full moon. Should I do her system according to my old period schedule... or should I do it like i'm ovulating at the full moon? I just bought her book, I'm curious to learn more @drmindypelz

I went into natural menopause at 54. At 62 I had lumpectomies and radiation for stage one breast cancer. The cancer was fueled by estrogen. I've been on Anastrazole (Arimidex) to reduce excess estrogen production, for three years, with two more to go. I'm finding it hard to lose weight, even with IF.
Any suggestions?

This type of fasting makes sense to me. Fasting every single day without a break feels like it’s not in accordance with my body’s needs. Everyone focuses on the weight but my concern is to maintain a strong and vital brain.

In other words....there again is no real solid info when it comes to menopause. I keep searching for some info on fasting cycles for women using the CombiPatch. Not finding anything solid
