I have the same truck just with an 8 inch lift. It’s always nice to find someone on YouTube with the same vehicle who records doing work on it.

Great Video! Thanks! 2019 Chevy Silverado Z71 RTS bought from the dealer new with a 6" RC Lift, 35" tires with 20" wheels. It only has 38, 500 miles on it. Just happened to have the window down and heard a clinking and light rattle from the front driver side wheel. Got out and kicked the tire and immediately knew it was the CV Axle. Took it to the dealer as its still under "Extended Warranty" so it was replaced at no charge. The details says "Left Front CV Axle Outer Threads Damaged" so they replaced the CV axle. This truck is a great truck but she's a sissy. I would almost consider it a "parking lot princess" (as much as I hate saying that) because she is treated well, kept up and Ive had this happen (CV Joint), and already had the dealer replace the tie rod ends, ONLY because it was in there for a brake sensor replacement and they saw a tie rod end boot damaged so they replaced both (under warranty) I'm sure for the warranty money from MasterTech. Anyway Ive only had it in Colorado once during a bad storm and a few bad Texas Ice Storms but other than that its been my baby. I can only assume its because of the lift and the extra pressure it takes from such suspension lifts. Thanks for this, the warranty will run out lol so having this as a back up will help reassure me that it can be done at home.

If i’m replacing cv axles that much, i’d go ahead and upgrade to TrakMotive extended travel cv axles

Great video with awesome camera angles. I appreciate your info and dropping the torque settings. I'm doing my passenger side on my 2016 GMC Sierra Denali Saturday and your video helped a lot. I have one question, do you remember the size of the axle nut?
