Excellent.I have worked on cars for 50 years and it never dawned on me why sometimes the transaxle is a bitch to get back in.👍

Yesterday I attempted to change myx passenger side axle. I got it off, but didn't know how to get it back in. I thought about hammering it, but something told me to give it a night and sleep on it. Before I went to bed, I saw this video. Got out yesterday morning and within 15 minutes I w as putting everything back together. Car drives great.
Again, thank you sir.

Thanks for this tip. Reinstalling CV axels (without a lift) have been the worst mechanical issue that I have ever experienced.

I can not believe I only found this out today. 25 years changing cv joints and it has never crossed my mind why some are so difficult to fit back in. 😂

I’ve put a small amount of grease on the snap ring to hold it in the center before, it worked well for me.

I have not seen this tip in 13 years
Nice work.

FYI folks the aftermarket axles have terrible tolerance for the ring AND groove so sometimes the ring fetches up in the teeth no matter what you do. Fun fun.

I'm no mechanic, but I've pulled out between 5-10 axles in my stupid life.
I've always found that rotating the shaft finds a sweet spot where the thing comes off easy. Insertion hasn't required so much attention, but this is good to know.

Thank you for the pointer. I did struggle the last time. I'm replacing a cv axle in the next couple of days and I wasn't looking forward for another battle. I just subscribed.
