I like the focus on James face in the remake, how he feels her hand, takes his time to answer, it's really good

James doesn't say many words, but his gestures, direction of gaze and silences say so much. Maria, on the contrary, is so clear and direct with her words. Two equally effective forms of expression. Great artists.

remake truly made this scene so much better. maria is gorgeous in both, but james? oh my god. the hesitation, the visible temptation mixed with guilt, the pauses between half-whispered words, the expressions, even with his eyes alone, the camera work. it's absolutely stunning. makes the scene so much real. makes HIM so much real. the james' voice acting in the og didn't even SIT next to the remake. both games are extremely well made and i'm so happy we can experience this piece again but in today video game standards.

The original is so ICONIC. Maria's "See? I'm real" was used as the introduction to one of Akira Yamaoka's songs, plus the confusion and uncertainty in James's voice - UGH.

Original is more unsettling and the remake is more genuinely flirty. I do like the new voice actors, but I also like the old lines and dialogue pacing better. New stuff tends to put long dramatic pauses in that feel kinda weird.

People say she looks more trustworthy now, but wasn't the point of SH2 to work in dream logic? She needs to have those high contrast shadows to look uncanny to the player, not to James.

This scene is so much better in the remake. With James's expressions, showing him fighting his temptations. You can really tell her that he's struggling....

Original sh2 itches my brain so good. The slowed but direct talking setting the tone just feels perfect for what it is and like its ripped out a comic almost vibe.
-the differences on their directness is incredible while the first feels like someone being direct&alluring but also mysterious there. The second feeling more of a memory of someone mixed with a stranger. Her being created from his wants and views of his wife or more so what she wasnt making him more guilty for what he did makes her hit so much harder throughout the original all the angles luring you in. While the new one feeling more of her playing as those things.

I really like the role of shadows in OG - they create mystery, sensuality and quiet danger for Maria, the do not show her full face.
And her voice... it almost purrs, it beckons.
The whole scene in OG seems much stronger to me than in the remake. Fascinating... desirable... thrilling.
