That really makes you think about the phrase “he likes to hear himself talk” doesn’t it!!

I used to hate the sound of my voice, then I took lsd one day and heard it truly for the first time. I would speak and hear the different octaves... I sounded peaceful and soothing and thought "is that my voice...?" It changed things for me, lol.

I've been a daily vlogger on YouTube for 14 years. I've recorded so many videos and listened to my voice for so long, that what it actually sounds like has replaced the sound I used to experience. I no longer experience a discrepancy.

Am I the only one to like my actual voice better than the voice I hear when i speak ?

It shuts down to avoid excess/unnecessary stimulus from interpreting the sounds of (listening to) our own voice constantly o_o
Can we ... Trick the brain by opening the mouth and pretending to talk ? Is this what happens when we yawn ?

But even my spanish language teacher noticed my recording voice is so different from my in real life voice. For tests, he uses a recording device so we can hear what we say when speaking spanish, so he can critique what we r missing in our dialogue. When my classmate and I did a a couple sentences of dialogue, he replayed the recording. My classmate sounded the same, but whenever my voice came up, it sounded different. My teacher was confused if he picked the wrong recording, but my classmate is clearly himself whereas my voice pops up is when it's very different. Teacher commented how I sound so different in a recording like it's another person, he thought it was interesting. I was embarrassed how my voice sounded.
Even my grandma thought I was my brother but I had to awkwardly say I was her granddaughter and she was confused but accepted it when I tried to pitch my voice higher like I'm a customer rep with that forced happy voice

+TEDxTalks *I work within vocal limitations.* Would I could sustain the high notes I once did; but vocal tracts deteriorate with wear and tear as one ages.

Idk I just know that our voice gets compressed when it gets recorded so it uses less space and therefore the quality is meh

Thank you 😊💕 my Google assistant calls me sir .lol. When I went to pick up my medical record. All the people screwing around by the water dispenser stood up straight .the guy leaning on the table collected this lady's phone number .shoved the tiny paper in his pocket .two ladies in high heels ran over to me .both of them tripped righted themselves then collided. to help me ..I waited in the lobby..the lady asked me if I wanted coffee..I received my copy from this beautiful lady in high heels. I left laughing..with my copy in my hand. The same thing happened at my job. Lol 😆 🤣

That's Definitely Not true for Everyone, Madam..

Tchump. Ohhchohsayhahncohh from Colorado, and marjoeine preen just THEIR (Off Key) Voices..
🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️🤨😶🙄🙄🤢🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️🤪🥴🥴🤪🤪🤪🥴
. ... ..
Conversely.. ... Take Singers, . While perhaps this is 100% Rubbish I'd Like to think the (Absolutely) Incredible Talents of Pink, Amy Lee, X Ambassadors, Imagine Dragons, Skyler Grey, Howard Keel, Chris Cornell, and Patrice Munsel (while perhaps [always] striving to improve. I'd wager that at least +Some of Those Exquisite Artists Very Much are Comfortable "in" their Voices. ...

Though if That's (not) true for Every One of those Special, Magnificent Vocal Talents (then) Please Let me Know.. 🙏.
