When I'm in school I have to record myself some times for school project and then we have to show the rest of the class and I sound like a dying animal

Literally the only reason why I no longer cringe at my own voice is because I've had to listen to it over and over for years while editing stuff of mine for YouTube or for radio. Editing myself used to be absolute TORTURE...
