Dark underarms

The skin in the underarms is normally slightly darker than rest of the body. But if there is a stark difference, then we need to find the cause.

Causes :
➡️Friction : rubbing, scrubbing, tight clothing , obesity
➡️Acanthosis nigricans: conditioner here there is thickening and darkening of skin on neck, underarms, groin. Get insulin levels and blood sugar levels checked. Losing weight helps in improving condition.
➡️Waxing : use to hot wax with the trauma caused by pulling can cause darkening and ingrown hair
➡️Reverse shaving: shaving in a reverse direction to get a close shave can invade chances of ingrown hair. This can make skin appear darker
➡️deodorants: they contain alcohol which may cause irritation to skin and darkening.
