I feel like the golden trout is the rarest. Only caught one of them while I’ve caught 3 barrel eye, and two string fish

I just caught a Barreleye at a random island i flew to. There was also an endless supply of carp and koi in a tiny pond in the middle of the island. Also just caught my first crawfish and goldfish right after. This island is amazing!

I live in the northern hemisphere and have been catching oarfish like crazy. I've caught maybe 8 so far.

I'd say part of the reason the coelacanth isn't as rare is due to the time it can be caught being changed to anytime rather than 4PM to 9AM in New Leaf, though it still needs to rain.

Ya might think the golden trout or string fish is hard to get but actually it’s the Mahi-Mahi because you have the sea bass and the olive flounder both super duper common
