Please share this. This needs to go viral. My son is a EMT in Kentucky. He works for a Global company and makes only $10.50 an hour with 3 1/2 years of service now. How can we change this?

Why deal with that job when you can get paid the same to flip burgers or fold shirts at the mall. Thanks $15 an hour minimum wage! Guess we'll have to pay them $30 an hour to be EMTs now. At least they deserve it.

There's a lot of reasons people don't want to be an EMT. It's physically demanding, very stressful, and can be dangerous just to name a few. Of course the low pay is a reason, but pay is usually related to education needed for the job. In my state, a 16 year old can be an EMT, while many states do require a high school diploma or GED. The average amount of training needed is 120 hours to be certified. Some states actually pay their EMT's really well, so definitely look into it if you're interested! There's often many different training schedules like nights only, weekends only, and fast track. I do hope we can pay them more where the rates are low because their jobs are so important!

AMR (American medical response) is part of the reason. Low pay and treating their employees like crap, what do you expect?

Her reaction at the nd. Yes. Exactly. Del Taco is a pay raise and lifestyle upgrade in many ways for me. It's ridiculous.

Again! You claim unbiased coverage immediately after the host gives an OPINION on the story. I actually agree with the opinion, but I'm looking for news that reports the news, then DOESN'T tell me to feel about it afterwards. Balanced and Unbiased!!! That's YOUR claim! I'm so sick of just wanting to hear the news, but always ending up being guided as to how I should feel what I just listened to.

They act like this is new. I'm sorry been in the filed for a long time and money wasn't good. The money will never be good on a ambulance.

I know some cops working for ten dollars an hour in some states, like Arkansas. My daughter did EMT training so she would be a more desirable nanny. Making twenty plus dollars an hour to babysit.
