The problem is you want us to have high level training, give medication, put our lifes on the line, intubate patients and pay us less than $20 an ER. Meanwhile at your local ER you got RNS that have about the same scooe of practice while having doctors give them orders and plenty of more resources and there making $30+ per hr. THE PROBLEM IS WHERE GETTING SHAFTED

How about pay them more you can’t put them through bullshit and then expect them to not burnout after two years.

Getting my paramedic was the smartest and dumbest thing i have ever done.
I will always have a career in demand but after almost ten years I lost interest in the job.
Long hours, low pay, high stress and never being about to see your friends and famliy. When you do have a day off you are so tried all you do is sleep.
It is not worth it. Just become a RN

The good news is with the anticipated shortages in the future. Paramedics will finally get the salary they deserve.

If you are also interested in firefighting, then become a Firefighter/Paramedic for a county thats pays well. You will see a BIG difference in salaries.

Sooo let’s get this straight. As an emt basic I get 12 an hour in Las Vegas .... I make 30 an hour as a construction site Emt working non emergency just fixing boo boos. Please tell me why I would want to get my advanced to even paramedic when I can use this training for med school, PA school or even nursing school.
