Holy high prices, Batman!
As of May 2022, Netflix's prices are as follows:

- $9.99/month for 480p streaming on 1 device
- $15.49/month for 1080p streaming on 2 devices
- $19.99/month for 4k streaming on 4 devices

No option for individuals who want 4k? $20/month to get that crystal clear streaming video resolution is pretty steep. Is it worth it?

In this video, we take a look at Netflix's offerings, compare its service to competitors, and decide whether the average consumer should pay $20 per month to get the Netflix content library in premium 4k.

This entire video doesn’t mention or show their 4k picture quality. This video is useless.
Should have a 4k tv and show picture quality between HD and 4k.
That will determine if 4k tv owners are willing to spend $5 more a month.

Whole point of streaming channels was to save money on cable. But now you get Netflix, Hulu and another channel and you're looking north of $50. If they get too greedy, it may hurt them.

It’s subscribing for a month, watch the content you want, cancel, wait 6 months for them to refresh enough content and sign up again. Instead of $20 a month, it is $40 a year.

Netflix keeps signing deals in the high hundreds of millions and into the billions with content creators, comedians, actors etc. They keep having to raise prices. It's unsustainable.

HBO Max chooses quality over quantity. Netflix is the opposite. If they continue down this path of raising rates and bombarding you with crap their demise is sooner than later.

The entire point of streaming services was that it was cheaper than cable and it had no ads but now the cheapest thing you will get is 10$ dollars a month and it has ads

so at this point i would rather just get cable

Nope years ago when I cut the cord it was to save money and only have content I wanted without all the tiered bs cable companies had. Fast forward Netflix has constantly increased prices and every studio under the sun has separate apps ..if you get Netflix Hulu Disney plus and one other services now you're back into cable territory..it was good while it lasted

Nope. Not even close. Netflix is the has been of the industry. They keep driving the nails in their own coffin.

Netflix wasn't even worth $15/mo to me. I canceled when they said they were raising prices from $11.

I definitely agree with this video. Netflix content has diminished for the things I have enjoyed. They cancelled great shows, and I still don't understand why they have a few Bond movies, but not at least a series of one of the actors? They have created some great movies but those are way too far and in between to pay for their top tier service. Netflix announcing their crackdown on shared accounts is an insult since they originally encouraged sharing with family.

The biggest battle between these two for me is honestly the HDR.

My TV is not OLED or 4K so it doesn’t need the premium plan, but my phone HAS HDR, so if I ever watch shows on my phone I’d get the best contrast and quality when watching.

However my phone and my TV both use 1080p, I have the iPhone 14 so it has FullHD+ with OLED so I don’t think it matters to have the best. Unless one day I want to pay it for just a month of use, I think it’s not worth it in the long run. I remember Premium used to be $15… crazy!

I would love the 4K option with less simultaneeous veiwing and sharing as a medium plan

Netflix, Bring back the star rating system for all to see. Helps the viewer in curating content. Amazon Prime shows viewer ratings & IMDB ratings. Netflix shows nothing.

Went to 4k but most was their content, and less that were good. Scaled back down to HD plan and considering canceling. Use other platforms more often. May sign back up only during specific series being released then cancel again back and forth.

The only way I could justify it is if my parents and sister (both in different states than myself) could share the same account. It sounds like Netflix doesn't want that to happen though.

Damn Netflix for ending their password sharing service. 😤😠😡🤬 No way I’m paying for a streaming service that doesn’t allow it’s users to share passwords with their loved ones.

It's not worth it. I have a 4K, full UHD, HDR TV and the movies that have the 4k icon the picture looks more like 1080p to 1444p definitely not true 4K as my Xbox 4k BlueRay drive. I even went to the settings page and made sure I was on the PREMIUM plan at $22.00 a month and selected the highest settings and nothing. Just garbage! Also, like this YouTuber said the 4K selection is very very limited after almost a decade of 4k content outhere you will think they will be more. I am thinking of cancelling. This YouTuber is correct why own a 4K TV when NextFlix is not 4K.

I think it is especially if you have a recent high quality 4K HDR/Dolby Vision TV and a surround sound setup. The fact is that Netflix has the largest amount of 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos content for the lowest price.

So unless you’re willing to shell out hundreds to thousands on 4K Blu-rays at $20-40 a pop on average and/or 4K streams from iTunes, Vudu, etc., a Netflix 4K sub makes sense.

What I also like about Netflix is that they feature and produce a ton of original international content that I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to check out.

$20 is like going to the movies once with buying something crappy to eat or drink.... and Dolby Visions looks awesome on my OLED... so worth it for me.
