I have been watching some of your videos over this weekend (after my girlfriend said I should push myself to get a B instead of being satisfied with an easy C in further maths) and I can tell you now, there were a lot of questions I'd have no idea how to answer, that I now understand a lot better. After gaining an A in maths a year early and starting further maths, I haven't been able to focus on further maths so much due to other subjects, but your videos may just be enough to pull me through my last 2 GCSE Exams this week (though further maths technically isn't a GCSE but... Nevermind.) I plan on doing A-Level maths, and although I know I'm already accepted onto the course because of my maths GCSE grade, I really feel confident that I can do ok in further maths. I'd just like to say thank you, you have well and truly saved my behind for these exams haha.

I found this really useful! Having a school that hasn't organised proper lessons with experienced maths teachers to teach us because they take priority for GCSE students means I have to learn everything myself. Can you do this for other AQA Level 2 Further Maths papers? Thank you so much :)

6:02 couldn't you also do this using scale factors?
the length of ground to the mast is more than twice as long  than the distance of the ground to the tree, so we have a scale factor of >2. applying this to the mast shows that it is over 35 metres tall (2x18), showing you that it can hit the tree.

2:49 you just about stopped yourself from saying "tree" instead of "three"

Thank you very much. gained knowledge and confidence. PS. q 15 could have been done easier if you split it into two right angled triangles and then used trig and Pythagoras theorem.

This really helped! It all seems so simple now! Count yourself subbed!

MrArnoldMaths, surely on the last question yoy could just complete the square which would make it much simpler. I found it went down to (x-4)^2-28=0 then take the 28 over and square root it to x-4=square root of 28 which taken to a surd would equal 2 root 7, then taking the 4 over you would have 4+2root7. Amazing video, it really helped

I'm sorry for being picky cos it's a great video, but the range for question 2 is 0<x<5 with the signs being bigger than or equal to

@MrArnoldsMaths 4:40 question 2b - the answer of range being 'highest take away lowest' is wrong. The range, when speaking of a function, is actually the output of the function - so the answer would be 0≤f(x)≤5
